FAQ
Frequently asked questions about 4driving
Answers for driving schools: scheduling lessons, hour packages, instructor management, the fleet register, subscriptions and data security.
Onboarding and subscriptions
What do I need to get started with 4driving?
Just an email and the driving school’s name. Within minutes you add your instructors, fleet cars and hour packages, and students can start booking online. No installation or special equipment needed.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. You get 14 days of full access — online booking, hour packages, instructor management and the fleet register, for up to 2 instructors. No card required to sign up; you pick a plan after the trial.
Can I upgrade or downgrade plans at any time?
Yes. Switch plans anytime from /pricing. The remaining value of your current subscription is automatically deducted from the new plan’s price, prorated by day.
How do I get help if I get stuck setting up?
In-app chat with our team, step-by-step documentation for every module (instructors, fleet, packages) and a guaranteed response within 24 business hours.
Can I manage multiple branches of the driving school from one account?
Yes. From a single account you manage multiple branches, each with its own instructors, cars and schedule, switching between them with one click.
Lesson scheduling and calendar
How does online lesson scheduling work?
The student opens the school’s page, picks a category (B, BE, C, D) and only sees slots where an instructor is free AND a car from the right category is available at the same time. They book themselves, 24/7, no phone calls.
How are overlaps between instructor and car avoided?
The system checks both the instructor’s and the car’s availability at once on every booking. If either is busy or at service, the slot never shows as available.
Can I block a car for service or inspection?
Yes. Mark the car unavailable for that period directly in the fleet register, and those hours automatically disappear from lesson-booking availability.
Do students get reminders before their lesson?
Yes, automatically by SMS and/or email, with the instructor, car and meeting point — it meaningfully cuts no-shows and late arrivals.
Can I have multiple instructors and cars per category?
Yes. Add as many instructors and cars per category (B, BE, C, D) as you like; the system automatically spreads lessons across a free instructor+car combination.
Hour packages and payments
How do driving-hour packages work?
A student buys a package (e.g. 10h, 20h, 30h) by category and gearbox type (manual/automatic). Every confirmed lesson automatically deducts an hour from the balance — no manual math.
What happens when the hours run out?
The student and the front desk get an automatic notification once the balance drops below a configurable threshold, so renewal happens ahead of time.
What happens if a student cancels a lesson?
If the cancellation is within the allowed window, the hour stays in the balance. Outside the window, you can configure the hour to be forfeited, like a booking deposit.
How is a package paid for?
Online by card, or at the front desk with an automatic receipt/confirmation. You can also issue an invoice for the purchased package, integrated with 4invoices.net.
Instructors and fleet
How do I manage each instructor’s schedule?
Every instructor has their own calendar, working hours and the categories they’re authorised to teach. You can quickly reassign lessons to another qualified instructor for leave.
How do I track vehicle inspection and insurance?
Set the expiry dates once per car; you get automatic alerts 30 and 7 days before expiry, so renewal is never last-minute.
Can I see occupancy reports per instructor and per car?
Yes. See hours taught, completed/cancelled lessons and active students per instructor, plus usage hours and maintenance costs per car.
Security and data
Are student and instructor data safe?
Yes. GDPR compliance for all personal data, ISO 27001-aligned security for storage and transit, and payments follow PSD2 SCA.
Who can see the whole school’s schedule?
Through roles and permissions: admins and the front desk see the full schedule, while each instructor sees only their own lessons.
